Birthday Gifts~

My dear friend and her daughter had a birthday a week apart, so I made them each a gift that matched, but didn't...
One is a garden apron.

The other is a crayon apron...she loved it!

It was a fun project. I love the vintage fabric, too!

If you know someone that would love to have a crayon apron, made to order, let me know.

Sold!

So excited, the garden apron sold today!
As a result of hitting the pavement and prayer, I gave out a bunch of business cards, made contacts and got orders for more of my designs!
So grateful...more to come...

Vintage Garden Apron

This time, I designed a vintage apron with ties that extends 110 1/4"!
I found this gem of a print in one of the three boxes of fabric at the thrift store.

I really like this one. If it doesn't sell, I may keep it for myself!

My darling Caleb took the pix of me wearing it, even though I didn't make a bow with the ties!

...didn't he do a great job!

After three attempts at making gloves, I found these and thought I'd embellish them!

I can smell the dirt and feel the satisfaction of picking a tomato off the vine!

Garden Apron

I've been in a funk, I think.
But it's over now...all I had to do to get inspiration was hit the Etsy button and that did it!
Take your turn by clicking that word and see what I mean.

Well, anyways, my dear friend just celebrated her sixty-ninth birthday yesterday and I've made her a special gift...
Della, if you just happen to visit this site, I'm asking you to not read any further or to look a the pix I'm displaying of your gift...I don't want to ruin it for you, but I had to show off this great idea and have a memory of it once it's gone on to you!

My friend loves to garden and her efforts are not in vain...she somehow took the clay Georgia soil and transformed it into the most gorgeous yard. So, in her honor, I've made her an apron for her gardening leisure.
This is your last chance, Della, to wait until your gift arrives in the mail...close this page!

Four large pockets, and a little one in the middle-all made from scraps I had leftover from other projects.

...complete with my own tag!

It was a fun project and it didn't take forever-
I tried making her gardening gloves...
three attempts and I gave up, despite measuring and adding 1/8 " for seams...
so, I'll just get her a pair and embellish them!

What I'm up to...

I am indebted to the Internet and wonderful people that post things like how to make your own tags for your 'stuff'!
All it takes is some time, patience, a printer, a computer, freezer paper and cotton fabric...woo hoo!
Now you get to see my new logo that our wonderful son, Josh, worked on with me...I absolutely love it!

I have to say that doing things by myself is ok, yet I'd love for my sister to get here soon so she can help me and I can help her!~

So much to do, so little time to do it all! I shall be, not just do~

Wordful Wednesday

I realize that today is ordinarily a voiceless day, yet I cannot be silent...
Wild Olive Tees is launching a kid's line of teeshirts as well as a giveaway...hop on over and visit their site to see all the beautiful designs they have and enter your name in the giveaway. It's possible to enter several times by your input, so be sure you check it out.
Here's a clip from their post on the subject:

We are also thrilled to announce another Charity tee, CHOSEN. Through August 31st, 25% of our profits (instead of our standard 10%) from the sale of “CHOSEN” will go to benefit a charity near and dear to our hearts, Love without Boundaries. Love Without Boundaries began in 2003, after a group of adoptive parents realized that people united by a pure love for impoverished children truly can make a difference. Love without boundaries strives “To provide the most loving and compassionate help possible to orphaned and impoverished children in China, and to show the world that every child, regardless of their needs, deserves to experience love and be treated with dignity and care.” In just five short years, the foundation has grown from providing a handful of surgeries to touching the lives of thousands of children today through foster care, medical, education, and nutrition programs. To find out more about Love Without Boundaries, you can visit their website here.

Have a great day.

and it's on sale for only $7, plus tax & shipping...
I'm lovin' this homemade thing~!

Oh, to have my Trinity Faith here to model this adorable 'Fiesta' skirt outfit for me!
You know how much I love color!
The skirt fabric and matching top pieces are vintage and came from a pillowcase that had been handmade~
The design for the threading reminds me of a little girl that's twirling and giggling.
How I miss my grandbabies!
I have yet to make the matching little purse and this outfit will be ready to go!
